Okay ... here's the idea:
It's an role-playing game, sort of.
It's a tactical game, sort of.
It's a strategy game, sort of.
It's a new game system, using the d20 rules ... pitting one player against
another ... each has his or her own party ... each has drawn up a battle
plan ... each has practiced tactics ...
And now comes the battle ... and it's too late turn to backeach party
is on their own at this point!
(1)
A party is defined using d20-XML, or a variation there of:
- name
- race
- class
- level
- spells
- other attributes
The number of 'points' for each party is limited- a player can create one
big super character, or several weaker characters, for example.
(2)
Each party must create a scheme for combat tactics. This scheme is created
as an XML-based set of rules describing how characters fight.
(3)
Each party must create a scheme for combat strategy. This scheme is also
created as an XML-based set of rules describing characters' strategy.
(4)
Combat is automated, in a sense. After the characters, tactics, and strategy
are loaded, the combat engine kicks in and the battle is played out. The output
is a log of the battle, detailing all activity ... and, of course, the winner.
